Hope Amid “Tragedy”
John 11

1 Cor. 15:19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

1 Cor. 15:26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

John 11:3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus, "Lord, the one you love is sick.”

John 11:4 When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it.”

John 11:11 ... "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”

Jn. 11: 14 So then he told them plainly, "Lazarus is dead.”

John 11:14 “… and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”

“God’s love for His own is
not a
pampering  love;
It is a
perfecting  love.”

John 11:4 "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it.”

John 11:21 "Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, "if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”

John 11:23 Jesus said, "Your brother will rise again.”

John 11:24 Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; [26] and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; [26] and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

John 11:27 "Yes, Lord,” she told him, "I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.”

John 11:33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.

John 11:35 Jesus wept.

John 11:40 Then Jesus said,  "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”

John 11: 41 ..."Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”

Jn. 11:43 Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!” [44] The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.

John 11:53 So from that day on they plotted to take his life…

Luke 16:28 “… for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment….  if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.”

Luke 16:31 He said to him, “If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.”

Miracles declare
the
power of God…

Acts 2:23 This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.
