Two Kinds of Sacrifice:
*   Grudging   .

 
*   Privileged  .

 

Philip. 1:29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him,
 

2 Cor. 12:15 So I will very gladly spend for you everything I have and expend myself as well. If I love you more, will you love me less?

Philip. 2:3-4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
 

Luke 19:2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.
  

Luke 19:5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today”
   

Luke 19:8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

James 2:15-16 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?
 
     


Acts 2:44-45 All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.
  
     


Luke 21:4 “All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
 
       


2 Cor. 8:3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability.

Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.


Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.


Hebrews 11:25-26 (Moses) chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time.


Hebrews 11:26 …He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.

 

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

 

Eph. 5:2 …and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
